Day 1    Kalpitiya

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, a Ceylon Travel Key Representative will meet and assist you with your clearance from the airport. He will then welcome you into a luxurious private vehicle that will be with you throughout your holiday in Sri Lanka. Your first destination on this Sri Lanka itinerary 21 days will be Kalpitiya, which is about a 3-hour drive from the airport.

Kalpitiya waters are home to Dolphins and the coastline is ideal for a relaxing beach stay. Kitesurfing is a popular activity you might like to try here.

Day 2    Anuradhapura

From Kalpitiya, the next morning you will depart to Anuradhapura (2 hours drive). After exploring the ancient city of Anuradhapura, ruins and basic knowledge about Lankan history, you will check into your room here, freshen up and in the evening you will be taken on an exciting jeep safari to explore the Wilpattu National Park.

Day 3    Jaffna

Heading further north, this Sri Lanka itinerary 3 weeks will take you to Jaffna on day 3. From Anuradhapura, you will visit the Mihintale Temple first, Elephant Pass next, and then reach Jaffna – a journey totaling about 4 hours.

Day 4    Jaffna

On day 4, you will visit the Jaffna Fort, Nallur Temple, Library, Local Markets and the Nagadeepa Temple.

Day 5    Jaffna – Trincomalee

From Jaffna, it will take about 5 hours to reach Trincomalee, your next destination on this Sri Lanka itinerary 21 days. After long journey you will be relax in hotel and on the beach.

Day 6    Trincomalee

In 2nd day of Trincomalee, you will visit the Kinniya Bridge and the Velgam Vehera historic Buddhist Temple. Also at your hotel, relax on the beautiful east coast of Sri Lanka and indulge in some water sports activities.

Day 7    Trincomalee – Sigiriya - Habarana

In the morning, you will visit the Lion’s Rock – a fortress built on a rock by one of the ancient Kings of Sri Lanka. This is an exciting activity where you can explore beautiful paintings and engraved frescoes inside the rock. At the top, you will see remnants of the fortress, and of course a stunning view of the area around you.

After that you can visit to the village and you can enjoy bullock cart ride and catamaran boat ride. After that you will visit village house and learn and taste traditional Sri Lankan meal. And after you can have a tuk-tuk ride.

At the end of the day you will have a pure Sri Lankan Ayurvedic treatment for relaxation.

Day 8    Polonnaruwa

In the morning you will be taken to visit the ancient and historical city of Polonnaruwa.

In the afternoon, we have scheduled a jeep safari ride to visit the Minneriya National Park for an encounter with Sri Lanka’s wildlife.

Day 9    Kandy

The next morning you will begin your journey to the hill capital of Kandy. En route you will visit the Cave Temple in Dambulla, Matale Alu Viharaya Buddhist Temple and the Matale Hindu Temple. Also visit a Spice Garden at Matale and Batik Factory where the ancient process of making batik by using wax as the main component could be seen.

Once there, you can see the Kandy Lake, stop at the Kandy viewpoint and also visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy and enjoy an evening show of the cultural dance of Kandyans.

Day 10    Kandy

On day ten you will visit the Royal Botanical Garden. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala King and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.

After that you will visit Gem Museum and wood carving factory.

On the evening of day 05, you will be taken to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and mingle with the elephants there.

Day 11    Nuwaraeliya

When you head towards the beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya where you will come across several water falls on the way. Ramboda Falls is one visit we have scheduled for you. Along the way you can also visit the Tea Factory and the luscious tea plantations of the country. You will also be given a tour of Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England”.

Day 12    Nuwaraeliya

Early in the morning you will explore the extravagant beauty of Horton Plains and Worlds End.

After that you can relax in hotel and walk in the Nuwaraeliya city for the rest of the day.

Day 13    Ella

The following morning we have a beautiful train journey lined up for you from Nanu Oya to the Demodara. Take the most magical train journey through Sri Lanka’s tea country. A fabulous way to see Sri Lanka’s hill villages, tea country and see the daily lives of the local people. Train will going on Nine Arch Bridge and Demodara loop also. Upon reaching to Ella, you can visit the “Little Adams Peak”, Nine Arch Bridge and the Rawana Water Falls.

Day 15    Yala

On day fifteen you will head towards the South of the island. On the way to the city of Yala, you will visit the Buduruwagala Buddha Statue. Once in Yala, you will be taken on an exciting Jeep Safari at the Yala National Park.

Day 16    Mirissa

The next day you will be driven to the neighbouring city of Mirissa and you can relax on the beach for the rest of the day.

Mirissa is close to the most southern point in Sri Lanka and has become a very popular beach destination amongst tourists. Although it draws a crowd, there is a relaxing vibe on the beautiful stretches of golden sands. The waves are ideal for surfing and the sun and sand is just what you need for a perfect tan.

Day 17    Mirissa

Early next morning we will take you on a whale watching tour in Mirissa. After that rest of the day at leisure.

Day 18    Mirissa – Galle - Hikkaduwa

In the morning we will take you to Galle, where you will explore the Galle Dutch Fort. Your next stop will be in Hikkaduwa, which is also on the southern coastline.

In Galle you also have the unique opportunity of taking part in a cookery class that teaches you how to make the authentic Sri Lankan Rice and Curry.

In the evening you can relax and swim with sea turtles on the Hikkaduwa beach.

Day 19    Bentota

On day eight you will head towards to the Bentota. En route, you observe the old and mind boggling tradition of stilt fishing and you will visit Meetiyagoda moonstone mine, Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, Mask museum, Madu river Boat safari.

Day 20    Colombo -Negombo

The next morning you will begin your journey to the Colombo - the commercial capital of the island.

In Colombo, you will be shown around the city and taken to visit the Gangarama Temple, Manning Market, Pettah and Fort area, Old Parliament Building, Galle Face Green, Independence Square, BMICH, Townhall and Lotus Pond area.

Day 21    Negombo - Airport

In the morning you will visit Negombo Fish Market and the Beach. Depending on the time of the day in which you departure, you may have time to go on a boat ride in the Muthurajawela Marsh.
